We’ve been hanging around and chilling out in Esperance and the National Park for 8 days now. The Beaches around here are some of the best I’ve ever seen. The first few days we did very little other than relax and wander around town with the occasion visit to the ‘Tanker’ jetty to say hello to the local resident ” Sammy” the Sea lion. We also managed to muster enough energy to visit the Animal Park to hand feed Emu’s, goats, baby calf's, lambs, sheep, kangaroos, Horses, rabbits, guinea pigs and talk to the parrots.
We did the ocean drive which takes you along the coast in Esperance and a little in land to Pink Lake. As the weather was over cast the first few days here we didn’t get to see it a it’s best.
For half of our time here we have stayed in Cape Le Grand National Park. It’s been a wonderful experience and sorely going to miss falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the sound of the waves on the beaches of Lucky Bay and Le Grand Beach in the Cape Le Grand National Park. While here we have explored the many beaches and driven on some. One of which was a 22KM drive along the beach back towards town. On our first day in the park we were just going to go for a paddle but the water was so inviting Katrina ended up going in fully clothed.

Today we have climb to the top of Frenchman’s peak. It’s only a 3km track but if it got any steeper you would need ropes (see pics below). However the views from the top were amazing.
All in all, Esperance is currently our favourite spot so far! but here is still lots more to see… so watch this space
