After waking to the sounds of cockatoos and the laughing kookaburra. Once we had said goodbye to Craig and Christine, we decide to explore the Grampians. Our first stop was to Halls gap or as James miss pronounced it ”whores gap!” which is a town in the north of the Grampians. After a quick stop at the tourist information centre we were on our way to Mackenzie falls on the way we stoped off at Boroka Lookout for a few photo’s and to checkout the scenery. From the look out you can see Halls Gap, Lake Fyans (where we are camping) and as you can see from the below pictures you can see for miles.
Craig and Christine had warned us that to get to the falls was a bit of a trek but it was well worth it. We tend to agree with them. The waterfall was beautiful, and the pool was the perfect temperature to cool off in.
We didn’t think of it at the time but the 1.2 trek to the falls was all down hill. We soon realised this was the easy part and getting back to the car in 34 degrees heat all up hill and stairs was not fun and took a lot longer than going down. Thank god we took the water bottles with us.
On the way back to camp we stopped off at Reed lookout for some more pictures.
When we got back to the campsite we realised that everyone had left because school starts on Monday, but we have found some new friends;
We have named them Matilda, Bruce and Shelia.
